GUESTBOOK Farah Kahn, from Bollywood to the Bush

During a visit to Velskov, renowned filmmaker Farah Khan brought plenty of laughter to our food forest with a prank on her popular cook, Dilip, featured on her YouTube vlog and the Times of India.

While gathering around our open wood fire, Farah orchestrated a lighthearted mock wedding between Dilip and local trip manager, Kim. Encouraging the pair to complete a playful seven pheras ritual around the wooden stove, she declared them "married" to everyone’s amusement. Dilip’s shocked protests only added to the fun before Farah revealed he was already happily married with 3 kids!

We love improvised moments, so we gifted Farah our Rewa Rewa 2025 Vintage Velskov Honey, named after its botanical ingredient, which blooms only every four years. In her own words, she announced it’s “The best honey I’ve ever had!”

At the end of the visit, Farah planted a native Puriri, a stunning native New Zealand tree, named Diva after her first daughter. Now Diva is growing well and strong among hundreds of other new seedlings at Velskov. A living testimony of how visitors are making a positive difference to our local biodiversity.
