A Natural Forest Farm grows Biodiversity for Food

Velskov is a natural forest farm in New Zealand, where we grow food regeneratively within a biodiverse native forest outside Auckland. Our approach to forest farming embodies sustainable agroforestry and ecosystem restoration, all without harvesting trees for timber.

Spanning 10 acres, we cultivate a large variety of edible native plants alongside a thriving and diverse wildlife population.

Our work is guided by the ideas driving the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions and moving towards “Living Forest Economies and Prosperity for All”. (Ramona Radford).

Our name Velskov, derived from Danish, refers to the well-being and prosperity of a forest—well + forest.

Together with our partners, we strive for the well-being of all of New Zealand's natural forests and aim to pioneer a new method for forest farming that we can share with the world.
