Rainforest Cuisine: a unique taste of the native rainforests of New Zealand.
Rainforest Cuisine at Velskov offers a unique taste of the native rainforests of New Zealand.
The lunch or dining experience takes you inside a private forest, allowing you to immerse yourself in the unspoiled nature of New Zealand.
Velskov is named after the Danish words for "well" and "forest." We grow edible native trees, restore the ancient local ecosystem, and produce healthy food.
Velskov is likely the first of its kind in the world, combining sustainable practices for climate change, native biodiversity, and quality food production.
By visiting Velskov, you can lead the way in regenerative farming. You will be invited to select and plant a native tree for yourself, your family, and the planet. The tree will serve as a long-lasting memory of your journey here, which you are always welcome to revisit.
Your host, Mamakan, is of Danish descent and a botanical artist. She has developed a deep understanding of forests and reforestation, combining this knowledge with wellness and gastronomy to create an immersive and exclusive experience.
You and your guests can participate in foraging and cooking and be part of the hands-on experience while enjoying stunning ocean, lake, and forest views and lush green surroundings.
